This week we are talking Ladybugs

This week I,Shel get to host the challenge of Ladybugs,  I wanted to share a personal story from my childhood.
It was the night before Mother's day and I wanted the perfect thing for my mom,  I was around eight years old.  I had said a little prayer the night before that I could find something for my mom, was thinking flowers or a rock as she was a rock collector.   I woke on mother's day felt the sun on my cheeks and opened my eyes and my room was filled with ladybugs,  they were on my drapes the walls, ceiling, light fixture.  WOW and guess what?  My mom loves (Still does) ladybugs! Even had a red and black ladybug bathroom.   I snuck down the the kitchen and got a jar and filled it up.  I got to give it to my mother for Mother's day.

The info...  is

 They are very Photogenic

Cakes for a Ladybug themed party

A color sheet

And of course ladybug collectors coffee cups

and painted rocks

How to draw them

So with these awesome prompts for this week

April 14 Challenge ~ Eyebrows

Time to get expressive . . .

with eyebrows!

A lot of us have drawn faces from time to time.
Have you noticed how eyebrows can change an expression?

This sketch above shows how a facial expression
can look different by keeping the mouth and eyes
the same and just changing the eyebrows.
How beautiful Audrey Hepburn was,
and was known for her heavy eyebrows.

Another woman known for her eyebrows:
Frida Kahlo

Frida, an artist herself,
is a popular subject for many artists today.
Some are quite whimsical, and nobody ever forgets the eyebrows!

Disney's animated characters always have great eyebrows.

(The dogs have different personalities.
You can tell by. . . right . . . their eyebrows!)

Above, the diabolical Cruella De Vil in 101 Dalmatians
and below the more recent animated characters
Rapunzel in Tangled and
Tiana in The Princess and the Frog.

All have amazing eyebrows!

How cute! A cat with eyebrows! He looks a bit perplexed.

The art form, Anime, is heavy on expressive brows ~

Whaddayaknow ~ even houses have eyebrows!
These are called, appropriately enough,
eyebrow windows.

Another one whose brows are quite a trademark.
Lovely fashion model Cara Delevingne . . .
(also a socialite, actress, and singer according to wikipedia)

So, what can you create keeping expressive eyebrows in mind?
I can't wait to see what you post!
Add your link below,
and please link back to Inspiration Avenue.
I hope you have fun with this challenge!
Use any medium you like and post here
by Sunday April 20 at noon (EDT).

Weekly Challenge-Music

Happy Monday everyone!  For this week's challenge I decided on the topic of "Music." There were some quotes that seemed to relay some of the feelings I have about the importance of music.

"A painter paints pictures on canvas. But musicians paint their pictures on silence." Leopold Stokowski

"A man should hear a little music, read a little poetry, and see a fine picture every day of his life, in order that worldly cares may not obliterate the sense of the beautiful which God has implanted in the human soul."   Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

-->"The only escape from the miseries of life are music and cats..."  Albert Schweitzer

"Where words fail, music speaks."   Hans Christian Anderson
Digi Stamp by Desert Digi Scrap

--> "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything.”  Plato

Mixed Media Collages by L. Hazel

It doesn't matter which medium you use, or whether you make an image about a song you love or just the ideas that music brings to your mind.  Grab your muse and create something with music in mind.  I can't wait to see what you all do!

Footnote:  In looking at one of our entries, I noticed that the "Take a Word" challenge this week is also "Music."  It was a coincidence that I chose the same topic.  I would like to encourage you to take a look at all of the entries there.  It's an awesome group of artists!
